Thymic lymphoma
The disease in brief
This is a particular form of lymphoma that can occur from newborns to adults. This lymphoma is not related to enzootic bovine leukemia; a thymus lymphoma was found in the descendants of a Holstein bull in the 1990s and the anomaly was the subject of an eradication program.
Clinic & diagnosis
Clinical signs are related to the space occupied by the tumor in the mediastinum:
- Either a mass of hard tissue located at the entrance to the chest is perceptible without causing any problems
-Either more or less severe or recurring bloating will draw attention to the thymoma.
Enlargement of the prescapular lymph nodes is often found.

Confirm a suspicion?
There is no readily available test during the animal's lifetime other than a tissue sample to be sent for histology. The absence of enzootic bovine leukemia can be verified on a serum

Fatal disease without treatment.
