This is not a disease, but rather a step in a search for a diagnosis: We have grouped together here the numerous poisonings which give "hyper" nervous signs; we can look for:
–Insecticides: organophosphates or carbamates, pyrethroids.
–Rodenticides, molluscicides, fertilizers : Strychnin, metaldehyde, nitrate, nitrites, urea and ammonia
- Venomous animals: Toads
-Plants : Arums, Bryony; Hemlock, Laburnum, Foxglove, Hélébore, Ryegrass, Oleander, Water Lily, Cyanogenic plants (cherry laurel, etc.), Marsh Marigold, Redoul, Rhododendron, Verâtre
-Fungi and mycotoxin : Amanita and lepiota, cortinaria, rye grass stagger, diplodiose.
–Metals : Lead, arsenic, copper/acute aluminum poisoning,
-Miscellaneous : sodium chloride, hydrogen sulfide
Clinic & diagnosis
Hyper nervous signs, besides agitation, include convulsions.
