The disease in brief
This dermatosis is presented by some authors as a solid clinical entity in France and abroad; this is the reason why we have maintained it in the clinical suspicions useful to know. The real existence of this disease has not been demonstrated and it is contested and contestable.
Clinic & diagnosis
The disease is suspected by observing widespread or localized hair loss (head, shield, limbs, ears), not itchy, on a calf over one month old or 1 to 4 months old; on the skin, either normal skin or the presence of scales and crusty skin is noted. These are isolated cases.

If confirmation is essential, a skin biopsy sent in 10% formalin will allow the histologist to confirm the hair follicle lesion presented as specific by various authors.
Prognosis and treatment
The prognosis is good; the treatment recommended by those who believe in this disease consists of injecting Vitamin C.
Prevention
No specific prevention.
