The disease in brief
It is most often an infection by a Coliform or a Streptococcus uberis. Very variable frequency depending on the breeding or the years. The frequency increases during winter or periods when cows are in the stable. This type of mastitis can be followed by abortion.
If the drying treatment or the installation of a teat plug is recent (<8 days), we must think about this route of infection and these particular bacteria.

Prognosis and treatment
Milk the affected area after emptying.
Treat systemically for coliforms while you obtain the results of the bacteria and redirect the treatment if this is not the case.
If contamination could have occurred during dry-off treatment, refer to this disease to redirect the choice of antibiotics.

Guarantee clean and dry housing for dry cows. Hygiene of gestures and the environment
