The disease in brief
In the condition of the calf as you have described it, we find an absence of response to an eyelid reflex elicited on a calf that otherwise appears "in good shape": These evaluation elements with opposing results point for the first towards a serious state of acidosis, while the others point towards a good acid-base balance; we are not able to reliably suggest a suspicion. We must be careful and try to find the origin of the non-response to the eyelid reflex by deepening the differential diagnosis of this anomaly: Paralysis of the eyelid muscles? Blindness of ocular origin? Blindness of central origin?
Clinic & diagnosis
The situation described appears to us to be inconsistent, a possible error of evaluation or entry or it hides a particular case: In fact we find an absence of closure of the eyelids in response to a provoked palpebral reflex, this absence is combined with a calf in "good shape":
-Its tone is normal, the calf stands upright and is stable if jostled.
-He sucks his fingers vigorously, he is thirsty and his mouth is hot;
-His reactions to visual, auditory and painful stimuli are normal.
-His eye is well rounded, no enophthalmos is visible.

Confirm a suspicion?
Diagnostic tests that can be performed at the bedside in rural medicine are more affordable. A blood test can be used to assess the main elements in the stable.
This precise assessment is valuable for choosing solutions at this level of severity.
Prognosis and treatment
Since no suspicion is raised for this patient, it is not possible to propose any treatment or prognosis.
