Diarrhea with cow milk intolerance
The disease in brief
Milk can trigger a hypersensitivity reaction through its proteins or lactose, which will be expressed by alopecia.
Clinic & diagnosis
The disease is suspected by observing extensive hair loss (head, hindquarters, etc.), not itchy, on a calf that has diarrhea, whatever its appearance, or diarrhea that progresses with periods of improvement and recurrence. The skin takes on a pink color.

Confirm a suspicion?
If confirmation is essential, a skin biopsy sent in 10% formalin will allow the histologist to confirm the lesion, at least in its mechanism.
Prognosis and treatment
The prognosis is good; treatment may include:
-Replace milk with a milk replacer without milk powder.
-Anti-allergy treatment can be put in place
Prevention
No prevention other than overall prevention of diarrhea.
