Calf or juvenile lymphoma
The disease in brief
It is an uncommon lymphoma, not related to enzootic bovine leukemia, which appears between the ages of one month and three years. It is a sporadic disease, fatal in 2 weeks to 2 months.
Clinic & diagnosis
Multicentric hypertrophy of numerous lymph nodes or localized and unexplained adenomegaly will lead to suspicion of the disease which will be accompanied by various symptoms if there is organic compression:
-A bovine that is losing weight or showing cutaneous or subcutaneous nodules
-A larger and tense jugular vein than normal, or edema is located in the trough or at the entrance to the chest, or a heart murmur, or a galloping sound
- Swollen limbs in the dependent area, or edema in the dependent ventral area
-Respiratory signs: Dyspnea, abdominal breathing, or expiration accompanied by a complaint

Confirm a suspicion?
It can be verified that this is not a case of enzootic bovine leukemia by serology.
Prognosis and treatment
No treatment; fatal disease within weeks.
